German Bastard Sword

The Swiss and Germans originally carried swords of this style, although they became popular in other regions later. The bastard sword was developed for the use of the foot soldier and had become common by the early 1500's.

Hand crafted from 5160 high carbon spring steel with a full peened over tang and antiqued finish. Solid steel pommel and crossguard are also antiqued. Hardwood grip wrapped in leather. Complete with wood scabbard with antiqued throat and tip. Ships with a sharp edge.

50 1/8" overall with a 38 3/4" blade. Weighs around 2 pounds 9 ounces.

Point of balance is 5.5"

Width at guard is 1.94"

Thickness at guard is .22"

Thickness at tip is .16"
