Tinker Hanwei Blunt Early Medieval Sword

This sword is part of a collaboration between Michael "Tinker" Pearce and CAS/Hanwei. Based on an Oakeshott type XII design typical of the 13th-14th century. Suitable for combat reenactment.

Hand crafted from marquenched 5160 high carbon spring steel with a full tang and recessed pommel tensioning nut to allow a dismountable hilt. The blade is marquenched to 50-53 HRC with the tang drawn back to 30 HRC. Solid steel pommel and crossguard. The grip is leather over a cord wrapped hardwood. Complete with black leather wrapped wooden scabbard with metal tip and throat. Ships with a blunt edge.

38 1/8" overall with 31 3/8" blade. Handle is 6 7/8" long. Weighs around 2 pounds 8 ounces.

The blade is 2 3/16" wide at the base. 3" from the point it is 13/16" wide. The balance point is 4 1/8" from the base of the blade. The center of percussion is 22" from the base of the blade.

A sharp version of this sword is also available. Replacement blades are also available.
