Tinker Hanwei Sharp Two Handed Longsword

This sword is part of a collaboration between Michael "Tinker" Pearce and CAS/Hanwei. Based on an Oakeshott type XVIIIA design typical of the late Medieval period.

Hand crafted from marquenched 5160 high carbon spring steel with a full tang and recessed pommel tensioning nut to allow a dismountable hilt. The blade is marquenched to 50-53 HRC with the tang drawn back to 30 HRC. Solid steel pommel and crossguard. The grip is leather over a cord wrapped hardwood. Complete with black leather wrapped wooden scabbard with metal tip and throat. Ships with a sharp edge.

47" overall with 35" blade. Handle is 12" long. Weighs around 2 pounds 14 ounces.

Point of balance is 3 1/2"

Point of harmonics is 21 3/4"

Width at guard is 2 1/8"

Width at tip is 3/4"

Thickness at guard is .25"

Thickness at tip is .09"

A blunt version of this sword is also available. Replacement blades are also available.
