Medieval Practice Weapon - Gladius

Not only were wooden swords used by Gladiators for training, but if he survived the arena and lived long enough to retire, a symbolic wooden gladius was awarded as a token of discharge and freedom.

Fully seasoned and hand crafted in solid hardwood, with contrasting wood guard and pommel. It can take the abuse of light sparring and reenacting. Keep in mind that wood can break along the grain.

27" overall with a 20" blade. 1 3/4" wide blade. Weighs about 3/4 pound.
