16th Century Ceremonial Sword
Ceremonial or coronation sword based on an early 16th century northern Italian design. The original is featured in Oakshotte's Records of the Medieval Sword, and he estimates the date to be between 1490 and 1510. Del Tin 2169. Hand crafted in Italy by Fulvio Del Tin from Chrome-Vanadium steel with a full tang that has been peened. Tempered to 50 HRC. Silver plated brass pommel and guard. Detailed pommel and guard with sculptural scene in relief. Ships with a dull edge. 44 3/4" overall with a 37" blade. Weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces. P.O.B. is 5 1/2".
