9th Century Saxon Sword

Based on a 9th century piece found in the bank of a stream in England in 1976. The original is on display in the Yorkshire Museum.

A true pattern welded core with 1095 high carbon spring steel edges. Replicates a technique used by the Saxons and Vikings. This technique produced blades that were sharp and resilient. Hardwood grip is wrapped in leather with carved bands of steel. Complete with leather covered wood scabbard with integral belt hooks. Ships with a sharp edge.

33 7/8" overall with a 26 3/4" blade. Handle is 6". Weighs around 3 pounds.
