Based on a circa 1100 design. The axe is almost as old an implement as the club. Metal axe heads were among the first handiworks created during the Copper Age. With all this history it is easy to see why a Medieval warrior would choose a good axe for battle. This axe, circa 1100, has a back spike to add to its effectiveness as a weapon of war. Hand crafted from high carbon spring steel. Head is pinned to the hardwood shaft which curves at the end. Ships with an unsharpened edge. 23 1/4" overall with a 6 1/4" by 9 1/2" head. Weighs around 1 pound 8 ounces.
